This workshop places the young participant in touch with a distinct creative reality, where reaching dramatization requires the construction of the scenic object: the puppet. This puppet, simple in structure, evokes the imagery of sea monsters that once populated—and still remain present within—maritime maps and the minds of sailors, in their confrontation with the unknown sea.
And as imagination knows no end, these monsters may populate every mind.
Each young person creates their own puppet, serving as a starting point for a broader project centered on stories that address the presence of the sea monster.

We can only imagine our encounter with these creatures there upon the shore. And imagining is something we do so well.
This is a puppet-making workshop that springs from the territory's imagination and its identity, allowing us to draw closer and use this bond as material for theatrical play—a way of claiming the identity of a place as our own.

Puppets, while often associated with childhood, are deeply woven into our collective imagination, history, and tradition. This art form offers an inexhaustible wealth of theatrical experiences, constantly renewing itself through innovative creation and manipulation on the modern stage.
It is essential for educators to equip themselves with the specialized knowledge needed to facilitate these experiences. By exploring diverse materials and construction techniques, teachers can provide students with the tools to develop original creative work, transforming the classroom into a laboratory for theatrical discovery and artistic expression.
