Teatro e Marionetas de Mandrágora decided to continue the competition in 2025, maintaining its commitment to internationalization. Thus, the “International Puppet and Object Award - Mar~Marionetas 2025” returns, and it is with great pleasure that we resume an initiative previously embraced by the festival: the creation of an award of excellence for the artist often hidden behind the scenes, visible only through their object - the puppet.
This exhibition will feature the winning puppets from the first four editions and several puppets competing in the 2025 edition, including the winning puppet from this edition.

From 2014 to 2017, the Mar~Marionetas Festival promoted four editions of this competition with the aim of promoting this artistic genre, fostering the art of puppetry and animated forms, and enhancing the recognition of the respective creative builders. This competition has established itself as a benchmark initiative in the field, with recognized interest and cultural relevance.

Over the years, the Company has carried out a range of activities, from shows and workshops to collaborations, which have enabled it to build up a vast collection. We realized that it was necessary to showcase this collection, both for the Company, in terms of promotion and publicity, and for the public, who have always been incredibly supportive.
Whether for recreational, educational, or artistic reasons, exhibiting our work is an integral part of our intention to showcase the many facets of puppet theater that accompany the presentation of our creations in the context of a show.
